What he is asking is when does the 30 days start? Since he has paid September's rent, when the LL notified him in the middle of the month,
or the 1st of next month Oct1? So It must be vacant by Oct 31st?
: Not "a couple of days notice". Notify the landlord that by law you're entitled to 30 days notice and thats what you're going to take. If he attempts to lock you out or doing anything. Call the cops thats illegal. Even as a month to month you're entitled to at least 30 days and have a right not to be locked out.
