: I received a bloomberg form b-307 (30 day notice termination for month to month
: tenants) under my door yesterday, notifiying me that I have to be out by
: 9/30/99 or else the landlord will commence summary proceedings.

It's Blumberg, not bloomberg. If you're not regulated, renewals are governed only by your lease. If your lease expired 8/31 or prior, The LL is beginning the eviction process: See Mark's answer for some basics, read about the process on TenantNet Home, click on NYC Housing Court Decisions, then on NYC Housing Court. There are booklets there describing the Holdover Eviction process.
Ditto if your lease expires 9/30 AND requires only a 30-day notice of non-renewal.

: I am in a 4 unit unregulated-non stabilized building in Park Slope Brooklyn.

Sometimes a 4-unit building does have regulated apts in it: check with DHCR: call the 718 number and ask for a Rent History, they will send it to your apt..

: My lease happened to expire at the same time the building was sold.
: I have not been notified by my current landlord of the sale of the building or
: the names of the new owners.

Who sent the 30-day notice? old owner or new?
Also: search this board this month for help verifying new landlord.

: I have the following questions.

: Since this was placed under my door, have I legally received this notice?
: What is summary proceedings?
: What will happen if I am not out by the 30th?
: How long realistically do I have before a judge issues an eviction notice?
: What kind of legal records are generated in the event of an eviction?
: Will anyone be able to find out if I am evicted? (ie: creditors, new landlords etc)?

All questions: Read the above on TN & Search this board!!!: asked & answered many times...

: Is there an FAQ that can walk me through this?
On TN: see above.
