It's Blumberg, not bloomberg. If you're not regulated, renewals are governed only by your lease. If your lease expired 8/31 or prior, The LL is beginning the eviction process: See Mark's answer for some basics, read about the process on TenantNet Home, click on NYC Housing Court Decisions, then on NYC Housing Court. There are booklets there describing the Holdover Eviction process.
Ditto if your lease expires 9/30 AND requires only a 30-day notice of non-renewal.

Sometimes a 4-unit building does have regulated apts in it: check with DHCR: call the 718 number and ask for a Rent History, they will send it to your apt..
