Use your browser's Find feature to search for 'mold': there are good responses to the mold question earlier this month.

You did not say who "we" are: if one of "we" is a child, under 6 or 10 years of age (I forgot which), and the wall/building was built before 1960, the landlord is required to correct the peeling paint, legally presumed to contain lead, ASAP. It is a Health Code violation: use TenantNet's search feature on this board for 'lead' for the current law and the new one starting in a couple of months. Or find it on their website (NYC: Dept of Health), linked to in one of those 'mold' replies (DK's?).
