: If you had a Super until three years ago, then you and all the tenants should file a "building-wide Reduction in services" complaint (assuming your bldg is rent-stabilized, and in NY).
You should list the services that the Super provided (was he/she there for emergencies, are the repair services not done, are the hallways/elevators dirtier, did he hold packages for tenants, etc.)
Our LL had cut back the number of porters servicing our bldg, and we filed a complaint for reduction in services. DHCR sent an inspector, found dirty stairwells, and gave us a rent-reduction). Just tell the other tenants that only those tenants that actually join in signing the complaint form will see rent reduction, if any.

: Ok lets be realistic, we lived in a 17 unit building with no super
: either......but his phone # and address was posted in the hallway, and
: he had a beeper and lived 4 blocks away, he also took care of that
: building too.......

: So whats your problem?

: Can't pay the rent and looking for any excuse to try and lower it?

: When you can document trash in the hallways dirty conditions, can't get
: the super for emergencies....etc..... take pictures of the 30 bags of
: garbage in the cellar crawling with maggots....

: Then its time for a rent reduction!!!!!!

: : How do we get rent reduced? Any other remedies?
