The new owner of my buiding refuses to renew lease under name of tenant
who has been subletting to me for +2years. I had been on the lease for two
years with the current tenant until 1995 when I went abroad and
had my name taken off the lease. I began subletting from my former roomate and partner in 1997 after my return.I have a roomate who is also subletting.

The landlords partners want to take the tenant to court. The tenant wants to
retain the lease on her apartment. I have no idea where to even begin taking
action on this matter.
The apartment is rent controlled or stabilized I'm not sure which.
