The lease specifies a 20 lb weight limit. It gets sticky--we signed under old management who did not specify a weight limit. We originally signed a "cat" pet lease. Now we have a dog that grew over the limit.
: This sounds like frivolous use of system to harrass you...Does the lease say no dogs explicitly?. If so the absolute WORST case is that you'll be asked to get rid of the dog and cure the situation. The landlords timing does sound suspect. Since he has known about the dog for 3 months and your wife is pregnant, if you take this court you should definately point these things out....
: I would seek the advise of a lawyer.
: : They are trying to evict us because our dog is 15 lbs overweight. We have NEVER
: : been late on our rent and my wife is pregnant. Furthermore, I read a KY statute
: : that says if a landlord accepts rent payment with "full" knowledge" of the violation,
: : the landlord can NEVER evict for that violation. They've known about our dog for
: : three months!
: : Help Please--my wife is four months pregnant and very upset!
: : : So what about that 15+ pound dog?
: : :
: : : : We live in KY and I heard that pregnant women cannot be evicted in
: : : : KY? Is this true? Are there protections?
