This is part of a Friday, August 6th, Newsday story about the passage of several bills in Albany:
The deals also make it likely that Pataki will sign another bill passed by the Legislature yesterday that contains a two-year extension of the Loft Law, which governs the use of commercial lofts as residences, and a further extension of the Quick Draw lottery game, which is now due to end in 2000 but would go to 2001. Democrats had called for renewal of the Loft Law, which expired on June 30, while Pataki has long been a supporter of Quick Draw.
