I lived in an apt. for 2 years. When I first moved in I was charged two months
security. It was a 2BR in a 2 family house in Orange County. One month ago
I moved from this apartment into a single family house owned by the same landlord
At the time of the move I was told that the security from the apartment was fine.
Now the landlord has decided that he wants another month's worth of security,
bringing the total up to 2 months worth of my current residence.
Is it legal for him to be charging more than one months rent for security?
Is it legal for him to increase the amount of the security after I have
moved in?
Does he have to provide me with bank account info on the deposit (currently
$1250)? If he has not what rights do I have?
