I live in Astoria and found my apartment through a broker. The fee was one
and a half month's rent. It turns out that one of the co-employees at the agency
owns the building along with her family. I was told this was illegal. Does
anyone know for certain if it is? I was told by this same person that another tenant
sued the broker and won her fee back.
