I moved into a rent-stabalized one-bedroom in LIC a few months ago. The rent is $850. When I moved in, the super introduced himself and casually asked how much I was paying. When I told him, he almost gagged, slapped his forehead, and said that that was outrageous.

Is there anyway I could find out what the last tenant was paying w/o contacting the property manager or landlord?
