the NYLJ story is on the update page: it will disappear any minute now...
A City Marshal has been suspended for allegedly
mismanaging his official bank accounts and submitting
misleading and inaccurate financial statements, and now
faces disciplinary proceedings in which the Department of
Investigation will try to have him permanently removed
from office. Frank Sorgente, of Brooklyn, is also charged
with selling an impounded car to his auctioneer in violation
of DOI policy and then filing false records concerning the
sale. The Appellate Division, First and Second
Departments, also ordered that Mr. Sorgente's mother,
who serves as his fiduciary and office manager, be
removed.
