: I have heard from many sources that new buildings in NYC frequently allocate about 20% of apartments to lower-income tenants in order to get tax rebates from the city.

: My question is, how can one find out about these apartments? Has anyone actually had any experience of moving into one?

There is something on the RGB website concerning Middle Income Buildings & NYCHDC, probably not what you're referring to.
Click on the HousingNYC blimp on the TenantNet homepage, then wait for the subject to show up in the location bar on their website.
