My roomate and i are in a bit of a bind with our former landlord. What happened was we signed a lease with the worse landlord in town and once we found out that they were getting sued by the county for renovations ($250,000)we wanted to get out of the lease. They high pressured us into singing the lease saying we better sign it now or we will lose the apartment. Our campus lawyer then sent a letter to the landlord saying we wouldn't be living there because of this misinformation. Now one year later we have been sued and have to go to small claims court.
