: I've had at least 12 incidents of very bad water damage, caused by the pipes in my building backing up, overflowing into the apartment above me, and then leaking through my ceiling. Each time the landlord comes in, re-plasters and paints my ceiling and says it is fixed. Then it happens again. The landlord claims each incident is caused by an unknown tenant above me in my 20 story building throwing something (cat litter, mops, feminine hygiene stuff)into the toilet. I think the plumbing is simply not ample enough to handle a 20 story building.
: Any suggestions? Housing and CR was OK but not great.
What does that last section mean? do you live in NYC? does Housing mean HPD? what is CR?
Suggestion: next time (or now, if last time was very recent): find out which apt had the leak or overflow, just take the day off work & follow the repairmen! Speak to that tenant directly, find out what the problem was... or ask to inspect the plumbing repair...
