Recently I checked some appartment and left to lanlord security deposit for $750. Very next day I called him and said that I was not going to rent his apartment, because of some reasons (one of them was enormous number of cockroaches up there). However, landlord refused to return whole amount of money (he returned just $350). First, he says I am lying: there were no cockroaches at all. Second, he states also that he lost another people who wanted to rent it.
I don't believe that all can be legal reason for holding my money. If there are some way to handle this situation. There were no lease signed, only handwritten paper saying that I gave him this deposit. Please, help
