Apartment door is wood--legal?/when LL does work to bring apt to code, does tenant get charged %?

Posted by Patty on April 29, 1999 at 15:39:34:

Is my landlord required to install steel doors on tenants apartments? Most of the apartments have steel, but the apartments that haven't been renovated (those that belong to people who've been living there for years and, as it turns out, mine) have old wooden doors. Legal? If they were upgraded, would I be charged with a % for 'renovations' or do things that bring an apartment up to code not get charged to the tenant?
