Several cases currently pending concerning the matter of legitimate "first rent". Accoring to definitions and requirements, a landlord must chage the dimensions of the exisitng apartment (ie: extend apartment into common hall area, add a room, etc.)
Does this then include dropping a floor (thereby incresing floor to ceiling space) or raising a ceiling (again, increasing floor to ceiling space)? By changing the dimensions, are there any specifics known to any reader, or any specific laws stating what exactly is meant by "dimensions"?
Interpretation can lelad some to believe that the outer dimensions would be limited to the walls... moving them in, out or adding new walls.
Any input would be greatly appreciated and may even lead many to a great savings on their current rent.
Thanks in advance for all thoughts, suggestions and leads!
