Statute of Limitation?

I would have to think that this would have to be past whatever statute of limitations is in place. I'd run it past a lawyer to confirm that.

If it were me, I'd run it past the lawyer to see what kind of exposure you have, and then most likely ignore it. The guy is probably just hard up for money, and is just on a fishing expedition.

: I moved out of an apartment (in Virginia) almost 5 years ago, but just a few weeks ago received a notice that my roommates and I owed $1200 in damages! Admittedly, the place was not in great condition, but it had been that way when we moved in. At the time, they kept our security deposit (which we didn't fight), told us we owed more which we scoffed at, and then we never heard another word. Until last month, that is.
: Can anyone offer advice or suggestions? Thanks for your help!
