I live in a building on the upper westside where, one would think because
of the cost and beauty of the neighborhood, it would be safe. However,
that is not the case with our building. The front door does not lock, has
not locked properly in a long time and we do not have a doorman. Even after
I had someone trying to break in to my apt (ground floor) and called police,
the management company has not fixed the door. They go on about estimates,
and measurements and contracts with the other company that may or may not
replace the door. Anyway, my safety is in jeopardy. Cops have been in
this building twice...mngment still doesn't seem to see any urgency in the
most basic of housing needs: safety.
Please advise on how I can get them moving on this. My phone calls are
doing nothing but angering the nasty receptionist. I feel in danger.
Also, we've had many 'nonrenter' vagabonds living in our building!
Thanks for any suggestions.
