What are the legal issues involved with tenant referrals? I gave notice of termination to my landlord. My friend is interested in the apt. and tried to contact the broker but the broker doesn't want to consider him. The broker stated that he can't because of legal issues, ie., my friend had already seen the apt. & that I referred the broker to him. Doesn't make sense to me but is this legal?
