We are in an apartment in central New Jersey. our lease is ending on 24th of december.
But the management demands that we pay rent for the whole month but vacate on the 24th
itself. There is nothing to this effect mentioned in the lease. When we asked them, they
say that its their policy to charge us for the whole month, no matter when
the lease expires. This somehow seems to an unacceptable practice. I feel that
they should either charge us for just 24 days or let us stay there until the month end(dec 31st).
What does this forum feel?
