Hi. I am renting the master's bedroom from my roommate, who signed
the lease with the rental office.
She promised me that I can live until 05/99 but now she wants me out
by 12/98. I am crazy because I have my finals now and I have no time to
look for an apartment. The problem is that I only had an oral agreement
with her...no lease. What should I do? She even refuses to give back
my 1.5 month deposit! Is there a way I can at least get my deposit back?
Please help!
PS. I live in Newport, Jersey City, NJ and my check is payable
to the rental office each month--never late. I keep the checks for utility
and cable TV, too.
