: My landlord is trying to evict me based on the fact I am never home and
: my sister is always there. What proof do I have to show to the court that I
: am a primary resident. The lease is only in my name. Also how does he prove
: I am not, what type of evedence will he have to show if he claims I am living
: elsewhere.
I have all that info except tax returns, I moved from several apts over the
years, I have been at this one since 95 and for convience I kept my tax returns
at my mothers address and my car is there too. I hope this does not screw me. The landlord saw on my original
application I owned a coop I was going to rent out and he assumes I moved there
However, nothing at that coop Utility bills, cable bills etc is in my name at that
address. The rental apt utilities etc is all in my name. The landlord is just on a
fishing expedition because I have more that one address. However, I feel I
would never give a landlord a look at my tax returns when moving in, why should
I have to now. Also if he wins, that gives landlords the right to accuse everyone\of
of not being a primary resident. In fact every single person I know who lives on the upper
east side and is single is using his mothers address for either car insurance
or to beat NYC taxes. If he can do this to me landlords have the right to
evict all of those people too.
