: First of all i wonder if it is illegal for my landlord to be bringing in
: our mail. I do not know why he feels compelled to bring in our mail but
: he does. I have a seperate mail box but he still brings it in and puts it
: on our steps- I feel this is an invasion of my privacy.
: Secondly, there are repairs that he has said he would fix and has not.
: I have been in the apartment for a month and a half. We have a broken
: window in the attic and a dead phone line in my room. Does he have a time
: obligation to get these things done.
: Third, we are cold in our apartment. Heat is included but he controls it.
: I think that we should be able to control it- i understand that because he
: pays for it that he should have the right to control it but we are cold and
: we have told him twice. The second time he gave us a thermameter. The temp
: flucuates but has dropped to 64 in some rooms but the highest i have seen
: it was 70 and that was once. I think that he should fix the window. We
: should have known because when we moved in he gave us a space heater and
: told us we can use that but i don't think so because the deal was heat was
: included and we should not have to pay for the space heater.
: I also was told by him that the driveway should not be blocked and that
: "he does not want to ask, not even once to have someone move their car".
: The problem is is that i park in the same driveway and i have come home
: many times with his van blocking the driveway- leading me to park and walk
: a block away. What can I do about this? What goes for him should go for us?
: Oh i could go on about how he tells us who we can have in our house and monitors
: how much laundry we do and inquires about our sexual preference but I won't.
: These issues need to be handled for the meantime. thanks je

I would send a certified letter to your landlord stating all of your complaints. If after a month, he doesn't respond, I would withhold the rent until he does.
