Seven years is a long time for people to " change " their way of thinking towards people etc... sounds like an inside job !!! The workers or one of her friends/relatives busted in. They knew you were on vacation...they want you out so they can sell or re rent for millions more....

I hope you were insured... get out of there...they want you out one way or the other.... you could sue her for not providing proper security due to the renovation project and knowing that certain ways into bldg were not secured with fences gates etc.... believe me, it was an inside job...

her COLD response to your tragedy shows a psychological clue to her URGENCY to have you out...so they can laugh their way to the bank....
