: My downstairs neighbors have filed complaints w/ my landlord about excessive noise from my apartment. I have received notice from my landlord stating that I can be evicted if the complaints continue. However, my apartment is 80% carpeted, I walk around barefoot, I don't play the stereo after 10PM, and even during the day I don't play it loudly. They have filed these complaints without once saying anything to me, and they won't respond when I ask them to tell me what I'm doing so I can correct it.

: What can I do?

Might I suggest that you send the downstairs neighboro's and LL registered letters asking what you are doing and state that you will correct the matter once you know what you're doing. If you receive no response and you end up in court, you will have proof that you attempted to correct the problem. Just a though.
