You may indeed face criminal charges if you lock her out. Ironically, she will 'have you by the balls'. It sounds more like a police matter than a housing matter. (A) To get any help from the police you may need evidence of what is going on. They may not be willing to take any action without proof. They would fear being sued for harrassment because of acting without just cause. Therefore, a video camera may be your best friend. You will have to catch on tape: a threatening or harrassing act from your roomate or her guests (such as "fuck you and your sleep, I'm partying"). (Even a guy walking around nude in the apartment ALTHOUGH you have clearly stated that this offends you may be adequate as harrassment). Don't rely on one clip, get a few if you have the patience. keep the tape at your brothers house. Once you have done this, you may inform her that you are planning to press charges. Hopefully this will make her leave (or straighten out). This is a legal approach. You should favor a legal approach if you have the patience. (B) If you do decide to lock her out because you are in fear of being raped, you will have to make it impossible for her to prove she lived there at the time she claimed to have been locked out. If you choose this path, be prepared for trouble. (C) Want to really get nasty? Video-tape her in her wild escapades in the public common areas of your residence (such as the living room or hallway) and give the footage (anonymously) to a website and have them publish it. If she's so proud of her wildness let's see how she handles it on the web. It may actually not be illegal to do this in the 'common areas'. (D) You may also want to call a rape victim hotline and see what they have to say. They should understand your fear. It may be helpful. ENDNOTE. You may be faced with a situation where you have to play hardball if the cops don't want to help you. This is life.
