Intention to vacate - can it be reversed?

Posted by Fran on August 30, 1998 at 13:59:30:

After living for 6 years in an unregulated building in NYC, I was hit with a 20% rent increase and I notified the building management of my intention to vacate at the end of September (my lease expires on November 30). My deal for another apartment just fell through. Am I legally entitled to reverse my initial decision and renew my lease, given that I am still within the 60 days deadline to renew? Thanks for the advice.
