We had a six-month lease and at the end of that lease it became a month-to-month rent option. Our landlord has given us a 30 day notice. We have two children and live in the state of New York. We have heard that if you have children the notice is 60 days. We want to be out in the 30 day period, but our house won't be ready within the 30 day time period. Can somebody please tell us if the 60 day notice is true?
