Subletting w/out a lease in a Commercial Building

Posted by Loup2Lou on August 07, 1998 at 13:16:50:

I have been living in an illegal sublet in a Commercial building sinc Dec.
1997.
My landlord is trying to evict me by August 31st. So far, his attempts have
been illegal as he does not have a legal lease and is not the real landlord
of the building.
I have not approached the real Landlord because I do not have a
relationship with him and he does not consider himself to be my landlord.
He is aware of my existence and we have spoken several times. I thought
about going to him directly and offering him more money, but, Why should he
do me any favors? I am sure he doesn't want to be involved. Also, he has
a good realationship with my landlord who has lived in the building for 3
years.
How quickly could the real landlord evict me? Do I have any rights? Or
could I get both landlords into trouble.
Any info. would be helpful.
