Unreasonable increase in 19 day notice.

Posted by Richard on July 02, 1998 at 02:23:36:

situation: I've lived on premises in good standing for 6 years (mos. to mos.). June 4th he informed me that rent would be raised by $900.00 for July. Pay or move out by July 1'st. Landlord served 30 day notice for July because I did not want to pay $900.00 increase. I need to remain till new residence is available Sept. 1'st. What should I do? Move at the end of July? Remain and risk recieving a Holdover Petition? I will definitely be out by Sept. 1'st. Can you advise?
