This is very bad. What I wonder is whether that is a legal reason for turning down somebody. After all, you were merely trying to enforce your rights. How did they find out? Was this check done by the management company in court records or by some credit-reporitng agency?
I can understand getting denied a lease because you were evicted at some point, or sued unsuccessfully. But bringing suit is enforcement of your legal rights, and I just dont see how it's kosher to be blacklisted for doing so.
