About a month ago, without prior notice, building maintenance came into our apartment to change the air conditioner vents. My roommate and I later found out that while maintenance was in our apartment, they conducted an inspection for carpeting. Incidentally we didn't have "sufficient" carpeting, so they reported this to management. Are they allowed to do this?
