Tenants have the right to organize and meet in public spaces without interference from the landlord. There are times tenants should discuss problems in provate and there are times to discuss it with the owner. I remember when I started a tenant group there were a few misguided tenants who thought the super was their friend (ok, it's not impossible), but remember who pays his salary. Do not meet with the super or the owner until you're organized, you have a spokesperson and you know the issues. WHat this super most likely did is tell the owner who is the instigator and will do everything to single out that person as a troublemaker. This comes from experience.
