Subject: Re: formula for new appliance increase???
: Can anyone explain the formula for rent increase due to new kitchen appliances. The rider on my lease says 1/40 of the cost of items. Is that
: per year or per month?
Per month. A new refrigerator costing $400 would mean the rent goes up
$10 per month. If you're already in occupancy, don't accept it.
That's only for vacant units. If in occupancy, you can demand a
"working" refrigerator (not necessarily new).
