: I am going through a financial hardship and need to get out of my apartment which eats up half of my salary every month. Is there any type of "hardship clause" that can free me from this obligation???

Hardship is not generally a reason to get out of a lease, but if there are
serious problems, then the owner might be in violation of lease. ALternatively,
(depending on where you are), if you move, he can't claim the rest of the
lease amount if he rerents the place or fails to try to rerent.
