My landlord agreed to let me move out after 6months, even though I signed a year lease. there was a rat problem, a 5 ft. x 5 ft. hole in the back yard that led to the basement, in a very dangerous neighborhood. My roommate's boyfriend agreed to take my place. the landlord said that was fine, she even ran a credit check on him. she suffered no monetary or property damage from me, but refused to return my deposit, which was a month and a half's rent. Now we go to court in one week. Any advise as to what I should present to the judge??? I have an attorney friend coming with me, but he practices copyright law, knows nothing of lease matters.
