Evicted unlawfully, Police no help. Help now Homeless!

Posted by Juan Carlos Sibauste on January 21, 1998 at 19:27:44:

I have a verbal month to month agreement with the Lanlord. Recently we had a disagreement about personal matters where I was forced to leave the property, and was falsely acussed of a misdemeanor by the Landlord. The next day when I found out about the charges, I called the Police department and gave them my side of the story, and asked for officers to be present when I re-entered the premises.
When I got there, I was told by the officers that I had to take my things and leave, because the Landlord did not want me there and he had a gun registered in his name, so I didn't have a choice, I had to leave. My question is What can I do about this? I have a court date for a misdemeanor charge, but I haven't been convicted of any crime, and my rent is paid up to date. Please help me. I am homeless now, and have 2 small children, and no family around the area.
