I live in an overpriced apartment (don't we all) but this place is seriously
expensive. One of the pluses of my place is a fireplace. I pay for it but
I can't use it cause every time I do smoke overcomes my apartment. This
weekend on a non windy night not only did the smoke overtake me but
after it stopped and everything was fine as the fire died out all of a sudden
burning embers and ashes spewed through the fireplace grate like bullets.
The building could have burned down. My living room looked like the
day after a volcanoe. this problem is easily fixed by installing a fan to blow
smoke up instead of in. The lanlord ignores the problem.
If they continue to not fix this where can I go to complain further. Can I
get a rent reduction? Shouldn't they repaint my living room walls grey from
the soot?
Who monitors these people?
