Invading Brokers

Posted by Zane Mackin on December 14, 1997 at 12:57:59:

Just Recently sent in my 30 day vacating notice to the LL. Today his broker called
me and said that they were going to show the place to prospective tenants in
two hours. I told him that it was very inconvenient for me, seeing that I work
the night before until 6 a.m.(He wanted to show the place at 12:45 p.m.) He told
me that the landlord could withold my security deposit if I refused acces. I suspected
that he was lying, but agreed to let them show the apt. anyhow. What I would like
to know is what sort of rights do brokers have for showing the apartment? Do I have
the right to refuse their access? Is two hours reasonable notice?
