Georgia Tenant's Rights: Cottage, Yard Question

Posted by Jarrett Burch on December 01, 1997 at 11:35:33:

Hi.

For the past 2+ years I've been renting a small house (cottage)
on a large property containing several other rental cottages.
Each house sits on its own distinct lot, and not on what one
might consider a "common area."

Yesterday the landlord's daughter (who lives in the cottage
furthest from mine, presumably rent-free) parked her car in my
backyard. It must have been during the night: because when I woke
up, there it was; it was parked there all day until at least 7PM.

My question is this: under Georgia law, do I as a tenant have any
control over what goes on in the yard of the house I'm renting? I'm
afraid this lady's attitude is that her parents own this property
and she can do whatever she pleases, including bullying the tenants.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Jarrett
