I have exactly the same poblem, only in my case the landlord did not let me know
about it and I had to pay gas and electricity for the second unit as well. When
I realized that there was only one meter I asked her and she admitted that
the second unit is powered off of mine. She claims that she indented to tell
me but she had forgotten.

In addition, there are some utilities shared by the two units
(garage lights, washer, dryer) that are charged to my account as well.

What can I do about these. Can someone please help?

AA

PS. I live in Houston, TX.
