: : I have a major roach problem in my apartment and my property manager could care less. After complaining incessantly, they are finally now sending an exterminator twice a month to my apartment. Despite this, the problem still exists building-wide. They basically say they're doing everything they can. I've filed complaints with the Housing Department, but I'm still living w/roaches and it's disgusting! As a tenant, do I have any recourse?
: Boric acid.
I find that Combat works so much better than boric acid and leaves less
of a mess, and doesn't present a danger for pets. But the bottom line
is cleanliness -- both yours and the buildings. Make sure your kitchen,
bathroom or whatever are clean. For the building, if the basement (where
the big mommas live) or back yard are littered with food or other items
that will attract vermin, then that's your problem. I wouldn't wait
for Housing (DHCR or HPD); they're both non-functioning.
