Do you have a lease? If you do, she can't hold you to any terms not mentioned in the lease. It should also mention the conditions of holding the security deposit

It sounds like you have an 'amature' landlord (a non corporate owner who has a small number of units). They can tend to be very proprietary about their properties and ignorant of the various laws. Research your rights, and if she presses you let her know that you know what your rights are, and are willing to have them enforced. You might want to go as far as having a lawer write a letter about a specific incident. That shouldn't be that expensive, and would carry the threat of large legal bills for her if she presses you. This type of landlord tends to be cheap, so that is a significant threat.
