: My apartment lost its rent stabilization this winter. I was
: supposed to have been notified. I may have, but I don't remember.
: My mother was dying of cancer at the time, and I could have easily
: overlooked the notification. So I've missed the 35-day limit for
: submitting a PAR. My lease ends 9/31 and the landlord is jacking up
: the rent. Do I have any options?

How did it lose its status? Tax abatement expiration, high income?
It depends. DHCR is notorious for not notifying tenants and deregulating
on default. I think you would need to discover the facts on how it happened
to see if you have cause to re-open the case. These situations are
complicated and the law changes on these things as new court cases
come down and different fact patterns are interpreted differently.
I would see a tenant lawyer ASAP -- one who knows DHCR and deregulation
