Holdover eviction...Help!!

Posted by Steve Jones on August 14, 1997 at 15:43:49:

I'm being threatened with eviction because I did not get the renewal
lease back to the landlord within 60 days of receiving it. I've lived
in the building for years and always miss the 60 day deadline and they
have always accepted this.

I found last year's lease and sure enough I sent it in late. But...the
landlord didn't get it back to me until almost 5 months after I sent it in.
The lease states that it is not binding until signed by the owner and sent
back to the tenant. What's the deal? They can be late, but I can't? If the
lease wasn't binding, then my current renewal is actually early. Does this
sound logical?
