Our building was just sold. Many people have washing machines in their apartments. Can the new landlord make tenants get rid of their washing machines? I am one of those tenants. I am rent-controlled, therefore no lease, therefore no document prohibiting washing machines. However, even if the rent-stabilized tenants have a clause in their leases outlawing washing machines, is it legal?
