early termination

Posted by charles wong on April 19, 1997 at 16:00:06:

to anybody who knows anything about this

I am terminating my one year lease early. however there are clauses in my
lease that says that I am responsible for the rent until end of the lease
which is 2 and a half months more of my move out date. The landlord-tenate
act says that the landlord must try to re-rent the place for a reasonable
price and within a resonable period of time. my questions are...

what is " a resonable period of time"?

what is "resonable price"?

I gave the landlord written notice that I will be vacating 3 months prior
to my move out date. Am I really responsible for the rent?

If I refuse to pay the rent, can they sue? can my credit rating go down?

a quick response to any of these questions will be greatly appreciated.
If any response gets a result, I will mail a check for $100.00.

please e-mail advice to ckw0182@sigma.ca.boeing.com

thanks
