: : I think its time for a reality check. There will be vacancy decontrol.
: : The only hope is to not lower the $250,000 income limit too low. Maybe
: : it will be $100,000. Anyone thinking that the status quo will prevail
: : needs to wake up and smell the coffee. There will be a compromise between
: : ending all regulations and keeping all regulations. That's reality!
: I think most people involved in this issue understand that this will be the likely compromise. I happened to hear Bruno on Ed Koch's radio program. Koch asked him if he would agree to a compromise of lowering the amount for luxury vacancy decontrol and also implementing vacancy decontrol. Bruno said he would agree to that but that Sheldon Silver is not agreeing to it. Koch pointed out that if nothing happens, Bruno will win and Bruno said that was correct (meaning the regulations will automatically expire). So it's looking more and more like vacancy decontrol is going to happen.

The key point of your post is that if nothing happens, Bruno wins. That means its very likely nothing will happen. I've seen nothing yet that is going to decisively force Bruno to renew the regulations.

And the clock is ticking ...
