Everyone here seems to be against ending rent regulation but how much do
you pay in rent? I pay $1900 for a small one-bedroom I share with a
roommate AND I've been here over two years. Now, the market rate for
my place is $2200.
I ha
ve friends who live in places that would make your skin crawl--
Four people(who don't know eachother) living in a tiny, dirty, two-bedroom
in the east village, which happens to be a fifth floor walk up, for $2600.
Everyone who is FOR keeping
rent regulation/stabilization, I ask you:
Is it because you pay extremely low rent??? Why else would anyone keep it?
It only benefits a select few.
THERE IS NO FAIRNESS IN THE SYSTEM AS IT STANDS. Some people work
three jobs to pay
the rent while others have time to go and picket against
ending rent regulation. I'd love to picket, but I don't have time, I'm too
busy paying the rent.
PLEASE RESPOND, TELL ME THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE WHO IS FIGHTING
THE END OF RENT
REGULATION AND PAYING WHAT I PAY IN RENT!!!!!!!!!!!!BECAUSE
RIGHT NOW I FEEL LIKE IT'S SIMPLY SELFISH PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE AT ALL
ABOUT THE REST OF US, WHO WANT TO KEEP THEIR GOOD THING GOING. The thing
is, if we end rent regulation, yes some
people's rent will go up, but many
will go down: AND WE WILL ALL BE PAYING THE SAME! IT WILL BE EQUAL!!!!!!!
